Delay in posting…

Sorry I’m not keeping up with my usual daily posts from this trip.  Simply put, the number of pictures being taken, the length of time in the field, and then the time it takes to go through the shots that I want to make everyone envious about (and the very slow internet connection here), all add up to the fact that there just isn’t enough time.

So, once I get home to my main computer and full internet speed, I’ll update.  Until then, just know that Karen and I are having a great time.  Today we saw Bison, Mule Dear, Elk, Coyote, Grizzly Bear, Wolf, Big Horn Sheep, Bald Eagle, Gull, and a Woodpecker!  I can’t wait to share it all with you!

Hot!!!

Man, it’s just been too hot to go out and do anything around here lately. We’re going on over 30 days with over 100 degree tempteratures and it doesn’t seem to be coming to an end anytime soon. Hopefully, it ease up soon so I can get back to moving around outside without bursting into flames or melting my camera.

Until then…

Stay Frosty!

(Yes, I’ve been watching old “Reboot” episodes)

Today’s Birds

Trying out my new tripod head today.  I got the Acratech GP Ballhead because my Manfrotto has a crack in it and just was no longer working well.  One of the nice things about the Acratech is that it also doubles as a “poor man’s gimbal” which makes tracking birds easier.

So, it’s the heat of the day but I’m out by the pool, watching my wife.. er.. I mean the birds.  Not a lot of bird action, but I did catch a few that I though were good enough to share.  Looks like I got the male and female pairs of both Sparrows and House Finches today.  The Cardinal came by, but was way to fast for me to catch.  Still working on getting the Blue Jay to spend more time in my yard.  Someday.

Female House Finch

Female Sparrow with Child

Male Sparrow

Next week we are having some landscaping done in the back yard which will hopefully make the area more attractive to the birds in the area.  Here’s hoping that they like the new additions.
